3 day Marrakech Desert Tour
This 3 day Marrakesh Desrt Tour barren region to Erg Chigaga works satisfactory for those who dont have enough time in Morocco but still want to have a flavor of the Moroccan Sahara Desert .
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdez
The driver will meet you at your lodging at eight AM. Leave Marrakech in the back to take at the Atlas Mountains and its dense forests through one of the most winding and dramatic routes in Morocco. Reach the Tizi n Tichka pass at 2200 meters high to enter the Great South. Stop and visit the UNESCO international website online, Ait Benhaddou, to skirt through Ouarzazate later, cross the gorges, and reach 1700 meters high, from which the landscape of the mythical Draa Valley unfolds.
Reach Agdz. It’s worth visiting the Black people’s village and the ksar of Tamnougalt. Reach the lodge early at night. Dinner and lodging in a Kasbah at the heart of the Draa Valley.
Day 2: Agdez – Zagora – Tamegroute – Mhamid – Erg Chigaga
After breakfast, a dusty off-street will take you to local prehistoric rock engravings in Foum Chenna. Earlier, you continued your journey to Zagora to discover the nearby village of Amezrou and its Jewish history – the vintage adobe synagogue and the silver earrings craft. Further on, the stoves of Tamegroute cast the emerald glaze so effortlessly recognized on mosque tiles, dishes and pots throughout Morocco. The nearby Nassiria library holds a ten-century antique gold-engraved Koran and numerous treaties on astronomy, remedy and Arab poetry, among other gems. Before leaving the tarmac at the back and taking at the Sahara, we advocate travelling a conventional ksour and having lunch in Mhamid. From Mhamid, through diverse sorts of barren regions, you will reach the dunes of Erg Chigaga, the ultimate bit via camel—dinner and accommodation in a desolate tract camp with lavatories and showers.
Day 3: Erg chigaga – foum-zguid – tazenakht – marrakech
Wake up to appreciate the sunrise and stroll across the dunes. Later on, you may take on the hamada ( rocky wilderness ) and cross the dry lake Iriki. Have tea with the nomads, pry out fossils, and join the tarmac again at Foum Zguid. Have a tasty lunch with the aid of the pool at Bab Rimal, or opt for the greater formal choice of a kefta in the village. Take the course west and shortly reach the town of Tazenakht, which is very famous for its massive selection of Berber rugs. It’s the location of various traders who sell rugs in specific vehicles in different Moroccan cities. Reach Marrakech in the quiet of the afternoon—end of your three days Marrakesh wilderness excursion to Erg Chigaga.
